Hotel Slavija is located inside Diocletian's Palace,
which is 1700 years old and is protected by the UNESCO as a zero-category
monument. It is included in the register of the world's cultural
heritage.
The hotel was first opened in 1900, which makes it the
oldest hotel in Split. The building itself is from the 17th ct.
The hotel is situated in the middle of the Palace, in the part
which used to belong to the emperor's personal chambers. Even today
the most preserved Roman spa in the entire Mediterranean can be
seen in the basement of the hotel.
